[ More Information | Past Bishops ] Our Archdiocese The Catholic Archdiocese of Johannesburg, under the patronage of the Immaculate Conception of our Lady, is part of the Southern African Catholic Bishops Conference (SACBC). The Archdiocese of Johannesburg comprises the following districts: Johannesburg, Alberton, Balfour, Benoni, Boksburg, Brakpan, Carletonville, Delmas, Germiston, Heidelberg, Kempton Park, Krugersdorp, Nigel, Randburg, Randfontein, Roodepoort, Sandton, Soweto, Springs, Vereeniging, Vanderbijlpark, and Westonaria covering an area of 14 517sq.km.

The suffragan of Sees of Manzini (Swaziland), Klerksdorp and Witbank fall under Archdiocese of Johannesburg.

The districts of Pretoria, Midrand and Centurion fall outside this Archdiocese and fall under the Archdiocese of Pretoria.

Archbishop Buti Tlhagale convoked a Synod that will be held in September 2008.
