HIV/AIDS Department

It is the policy of the Department to:

Create an information database of organisations and their activities in the area of Johannesburg Diocese
Network existing HIV/AIDS programmes and ministries in the Diocese
Help initiate projects where there are none
Be aware of the different responses already activated in the Diocese, by Catholic Church members, other churches, NGO's as well as Provincial and Local Government
Inform parishes of HIV/AIDS issues, and ensure that relevant information is communicated to the various Diocesan Groups and institutions
Engage regularly with DPC (Diocesan Pastoral Council), RPC's (Regional Pastoral Councils) and PPC's (Parish Pastoral Councils)
Liaise with all other ministries, sodalities and Diocesan Departments
Build up knowledge of relevant resources
Assist local initiatives to procure funding
Act as a referral point for local groups needing help.

NTFS

I am a senior brother of the Knights of Da Gama, Council 28, and have for many years been involved in a nutritional feeding scheme(NTFS) which assist the HIV/AIDS sufferers but is now progressing to the orphan and the old and infirm.
I need help in finding who these people are, I am already involved in organisations outside the Catholic domain and have experienced excellent results, but now need to contact all Catholic organizations who are involved in any Aids programmes, support for the old and infirm and the orphans, especially the deserted babies who need feeding.
We are able to obtain sponcerships from many organizations throughout the world on condition that the organization that we deal with are reputable and that accurate and honest statistics are kept.

Counselling and Home-base Training

My group and I would be much obliged if we could attend a work-shop or find some-one who is willing to train us as home-base care givers as well as counselling. We are based in Actonville, Benoni and have the facilities for training at our parish. Any suggestions would be most welcome.

I am a29 year old catholic lady living in Alberton, I want to offer help in the form of taking care of the the AIDS orphans and related issues. I don't know how to go about it and any ideas are welcome.
