At St Matthew's High School in Soweto, the playing fields have at last been levelled and laid with lawn. This has been done with the assistance of All Saints Catholic School in Huddersfied, UK, who made it a school project to raise funds to assist St Matthews. Their efforts paid half the quoted cost.

The Diocesan Educational Trust assisted some 61 learners with their schools fees in 2001, 250 learners in 2002 and again 137 learners in 2003. This has been possible thanks to contributions received specifically for this purpose. |

We are pleased to report that it has been confirmed that five schools, and not three as mentioned in the January Newsletter, will be getting the increased subsidy this year.
Your support, therefore, has not only brought benefits through the improvements we have made, but also a dividend in that the increased subsidy will greatly help towards the escalating running costs."
