1. Mission Statement

We, the department of pastoral care for Refugees believe in common, Human, Christian and Catholic Values with the community of migrants of our society. Our Pastoral work as a Department is rooted and carried out on the basis of three connected and interactive fundamental principles:

The teaching of the Scriptures;
The teaching of the Church;
The Refugees situation in South Africa;

2. Objectives

We are open and commit ourselves:

To help the local Church to be open to the diversity of Cultures and open to the cultural values of Immigrant communities;
To help people assume Gospel values and incorporate these into their culture;
To help communities to find in Christ, mutual understanding of their cultures and overriding oneness;
To bring or empower the local Church and Immigrant Church to embark on a joint venture.
