Vocations CommissionThe VOCATIONS COMMISSION is very much alive at Diocesan level and is made up of representatives of the various Congregations, Orders and Diocesan Priests present in the Diocese, as well as of lay representatives of Parishes. The ideal would be that each Region be involved in promoting and discerning Vocations and that they send their own representatives but we have not yet reached this goal. So far only a few parishes are functioning at this level, namely some parishes in Soweto, the North and the Vaal Region. The Commission meets every two months, with an attendance fluctuating between 15 to 23 participants. While every Congregation, Order and Region within the Diocese is entitled to have a member on the Commission, representatives from the following groups are regular participants:
Assumption Sisters Franciscan Missionaries of Mary Holy Cross Sisters Holy Rosary Sisters Holy Family Sisters KWT Dominican Sisters Little Sisters Of Jesus Mercy Sisters Schoenstatt Sisters Ursulines Sisters of the Roman Union Christian Brothers De La Salle Brothers Marist Brothers Comboni Fathers Consolata Missionaries (Pretoria) Diocesan Priests Franciscans Missionaries For Africa Regions: North Soweto Vaal The Commission is headed by Fr Graham Rose, who is the Vocations Director for the Diocese. Thérèse Rousset assumes the work of Secretary to the Commission and may be contacted at the Diocesan Offices from Monday to Friday during the morning. Orders and Congregations in the DioceseThe following Orders and Congregations operate within the Diocese of Johannesburg:
